A deodorant in a pot, not in a spray. I wasn’t super keen on the concept to be honest, but having tried a few products of late I am leaning towards it being a better option, especially for travellers. A new one to add to the list is Woohoo Deodorant Paste. It comes in two varieties, Urban and Wild, it works for anyone, but particular people with dry or sensitive skin, and a key drawcard is that it’s free from aluminium salts as well as parabens. And why are aluminium salts a problem? The answer is that they block your pores to stop sweating, and there are people in some circles which claim this is bad for your health in the longterm. The deodorant paste doesn’t stop you sweating, but it does neutralise odour and keeps you drier by absorbing moisture. I tried the Wild paste, and although it has an odd colour, sort of like dark butter, it does have a lovely, fresh and natural smell. To use it all you do is use the spatula provided in the box, or clean, dry fingertips, to apply a pea sized amount in both armpits. You can warm it first using your fingers, and rub it in until it disappears. And for women who are heavy chested, if you find you get sweaty under your breasts, you can use it there too. Key ingredients include everyone’s favourite, coconut oil, also zinc oxide, vitamin E and vanilla extract alone with some essential oils. It comes in a small 70g tub, and is easy to pack into your toiletry bag on the go. Woohoo Deodorant Paste costs rrp $17.95 and is available from www.woohoobody.com.au.
