Road Test

I’ve been addicted to body scrubs for years, and living on the Gold Coast I’m frequently in and out of swimming pools and the ocean, so I use a body scrub at least twice a week. I’m also very much a hands-on kind of person;in recent years I’ve kept a pot of scrub on the bathroom counter to use on my hands daily. I’ve reviewed a number of Freya’s Nourishment products recently and love them. For one, the brand is a natural line of skin care products which are Australian made and affordable, but the formulas use top quality ingredients, including essential oils, with many certified organic. The Rose Hand Scrub is ideal if you’re hands are frequently in water a lot, they come into contact with chemicals, or you’re an avid cook, and it’s easy to use, by simply applying a small amount to wet hands after washing. This scrub features Australian sea salt, which is rich in magnesium, potassium and calcium for nourishing skin cells. Other key ingredients include apricot kernel oil, which is high in vitamin A and E, and helps to soften the skin, carrot seed oil which protects against wrinkles, pomegranate oil which can provide relief from eczema and psoriasis, and rose oil to give your hands a fresh, youthful appearance.

When it comes to body scrubs there are two options. The Cacao and Lime Scrub is gentle, deliciously-scented scrub ideal for anyone with sensitive skin, or who’s allergic to coffee. It can help to stimulate the blood circulation and increase blood flow to the surface of the skin while also removing dead skin cells. The Scrub’s hero ingredient, cacao, comes from a Melbourne chocolatier; Freya’s Nourishment grinds the husks and blends them with raw organic sugar, organic coconut oil, organic jojoba oil and lime essential oil. The other option is Coffee Coconut Scrub, which is packed with nourishing, organic ingredients to exfoliate and help stimulate blood circulation. Two of the key ingredients are organic coffee grounds and raw organic sugar: coffee exfoliates without being harsh and gives your skin a more even tone and texture; while sugar contains glycolic acid which helps improve the skin’s appearance and reduces moisture loss. A dash of antioxidant-rich coconut oil keeps skin tissues strong, along with cinnamon and vanilla which contribute to the efficacy and the delicious fragrance.

These products sound nice. Natural, no nasties and actually quite affordable. Christmas is coming so I might have to give my hubby a poke to get me some!
