Combine five-star luxury, fine dining, a massage and perhaps a manicure, uninterrupted views of the Indian ocean and occasional chance to see dolphins from your bedroom or the lobby … you get Views Boutique Hotel and Spa!

  • Location: Situated in Wilderness along the Garden Route of South Africa, the hotel is about 20 minutes drive from George Airport with some scenic drives along the way.
  • Accommodation: The hotel has 26 individually designed suites and rooms, which is ideal for those looking to be away from crowds or wanting to have a quiet getaway. It has a penthouse, 16 sea facing suites and rooms, 3 partially sea facing suites and 6 non-sea facing rooms and suites. One of them is a self-catering suite. Regardless of what you choose, you will walk into a well-appointed room that is specifically designed to optimise comfort and luxury.
  • Dining options: Views Restaurant onsite is open from 7am to 10:30pm daily and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and anything in between. There is a deli that stocks pantry items, health products and treats. Not far from the hotel within five to seven minutes’ drive, Salina’s Beach Restaurant offers idyllic culinary experience with views of the main beach. Wilderness Village has a few cafes and restaurants.
  • What else is there: Within the same building you can access their gym, the award-winning Spa Views Wellness Emporium and most of all direct access to vast stretches of the beach! The hotel provides beach bags and towels in every room and suite, and you can organise picnic baskets on request.
  • What’s nearby: Wilderness village is renowned for the beach and the tranquillity it offers throughout your stay. One of the main attractions, the Map of Africa, is perfect for a birds-eye view of the spectacular mountain-forest-waterway cross-section. If you want a bit of adventure, you can do a two-hour guided E-Bike roundtrip from Wilderness village to the Map of Africa with sweeping views of the coastline. Other activities offered in the area include horseback riding through farm and forest, boat ride down the Touws River, canoeing, abseiling, and tandem paragliding. Of course the area is picturesque everywhere you go so there is that option of relaxed sight seeing any day.
  • Why go: Apart from the spectacular views, the staff at this hotel know how to make their guests feel special; they take care of the fine details. This is a perfect place for special occasions such as honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries, or birthdays.

The Space

Views Boutique Hotel and Spa is situated right on the beach and provides a charming environment for special occasions. Sea facing and partially sea facing rooms open up to the ocean and provide excellent privacy as there is nothing in between your room and the ocean. The boutique-style outdoor pool with relaxation area is only used by hotel guests and has breathtaking ocean views. Overall, it offers that perfect getaway for a few days in a quaint little town.

Where We Stayed

We stayed in a Sea facing suite that was spacious (~60sqm) with modern high-end furnishings and cool, calming colours throughout. Once you open the wide window between the deluxe bath and the bedroom, you can sit in the bathtub with a glass of wine and enjoy the view of the ocean. The balcony is perfect to watch the sunrise or the sunset. The suite comes with everything you would expect in a five-star facility.

UltimateTravelMagazine.com Loves

  • The design of the hotel rooms and the views with total privacy. You can view the ocean from your bathtub with nothing in between.
  • Hot morning beverages brought to your room at a time chosen by the guest. This goes with the excellent service you find in the restaurant or the spa.
  • Complimentary Netflix in all rooms and high-speed wi-fi, not that we needed it in a place like this.

Insider Tips

  • The beach walk in the morning before breakfast is magical and there is a long stretch to enjoy. You would need to climb down and up quite a number of steps to access the beach.
  • If you are visiting this hotel for a special occasion, let them know in advance and they make your stay memorable. (According to their child policy, no children under 7 years are allowed but they have interleading family rooms available on request).
