I’ve reviewed Keune hair products before and unashamedly loved them for a variety of reasons, including that the brand is top quality and salon only. Two new ones which will definitely be on my essentials list having tested them, are Blend Salt Mousse and Mineral Hairspray, both of which are ideal for travellers. First, the Salt Mousse. I’ve used “salt” infused styling products before and disliked them hugely, mainly for the stickiness, and stiffness, they make my hair. This mousse is a revelation, however, because it is lovely to use, creates tousled waves as well as sleek styled curls, and it boosts your hair with volume and texture; this means you get to choose your style on the road, alternating between a beachy and more sophisticated look depending on your mood, or time. Although volume isn’t something I need as such, my roots can be flat due to the heaviness of my hair; not with this mousse! The salt ingredient also isn’t drying, the formula containing Multi Vitamin Complex to the Blend range to nourish the hair instead. To use, add some of the mousse to the hair working from roots to the ends. I used an amount the size of a walnut and added more as I felt necessary. When I blow dried my hair I had sleek waves which were incredibly bouncy and didn’t drop out all night. This might have been helped by the Mineral Hairspray, a fine, weightless spray which you can layer depending on the finished look you want to achieve. Use it sparingly for a gentle hold, or add layers for a more fixed hold. Either way the product smells great - not something you can say about all hairsprays - it doesn’t leave your hair sticky, and it brushes out easily. Blend Salt Mousse is rrp $29.95 and Mineral Hairspray is $21.49, both available from salons nationally or from www.keune.com.au.
