Most of my beauty loving friends know that I am a big fan of the Dr. Spiller range of skin care and facials. I dipped my toes into this super high quality range a number of years ago, on a recommendation from a learned friend, and its products and facials have become staples in my beauty regime. If you're not familiar with the brand, Dr. Spiller Biomimetic is the pioneer of Hydratain Emulsion Technology, which is, in essence, a formula which combines the best aspects of both water-based and oil-based creams. This technology contains a special molecule which forms a "net" over the skin, allowing the cream to feel light and fresh, and penetrate the skin while providing long lasting hydration. Better still, it also delivers active ingredients to help plump up the skin, making it look younger, and there are products ideal for sensitivity, which can increase as you age. And if your skin is prone to stress, such as when you travel, there are products which can help with that too.

As a devoted user of prescription vitamin A and also high potency vitamin C, I usually try products which will work synergistically with both, not replace them. A while back I visited the Face+ Medispa in Bondi Junction, headed up by Dr. William Mooney, to have a full consultation, a facial, and receive a customised prescription for skin care, and add some new and essential products into my skin care lineup. First on the list was Aloe Sensitive Cleansing, a moisturising cleanser for sensitive skin which is also dry (due to ageing), and I love this product as it's light, fresh and doesn't irritate or strip the skin, largely thanks to the key ingredient, Aloe Vera. It not only cleanses but can remove makeup comfortably without leaving your skin feeling dry - a bonus if you are travelling.

Next is the companion product, Sensitive Toner with Aloe, also great for dry or maturing skin. I use it by pouring a little into the palms of my hands and "pushing" it into my skin, finishing with a wipe/massage action using finger tips. Again the Aloe Vera in this product is calming as well as moisturising, and the product balances your skin leaving it ready for whatever serum you're using, followed by a moisturiser. The final hero product I love from this range is Jojoba Peeling Cream. I was a little resistant in using it at first, as I thought it was a scrub, but instead it's a soft, creamy cleanser with a base of Dr. Spiller Wash Cream and spheres of jojoba wax, which resurface the skin gently. Once or twice a week, all you need to do is massage into damp skin and remove using a facecloth and warm water; your skin will be left soft, smooth, and most importantly not dry! It's great for a pre-fake-tan boost, just before you go on holiday.
