The Product: Biology Smart Skincare

Best For: Travellers who enjoy using natural skin care products and are aware of their eco-footprint.

Three Things We Loved: No nasty chemicals, they smell great, and they work.

Road Test:

Many travellers today have concerns about using chemicals and the extent of their eco footprint, both at home and when they travel, especially where essential day-to-day products are concerned. Biology Smart Skincare is a range of body hair, body and spa products which tick many boxes for such a person. This aromatherapeutic range of Australian-made products combine active native plant DNA complexes, aromatic essential oils and antioxidants, they’re free of nasties such as parabens and mineral oils, and they are also socially responsible. The company has a strong focus on its eco-footprint, and the future of our native fauna and flora, so it uses only sustainably sourced bio-actives and essential oils, also biodegradable and recyclable packaging to ensure its environmental impact is minimal. Each skin smart product in its range is a fusion of bio-active natural ingredients which are selected for their purity, potency and efficacy, and are pH balanced to the ideal level of the skin. They’re also free from animal-derived ingredients and are not tested on animals.

A few of the products I got to test include the Number 301 Pure Hydration Shampoo, and Number 302 Pure Hydration Conditioner. This pleasant smelling shampoo gently cleanses and balances the hair and scalp, while protecting barrier function to prevent moisture loss and promote optimal hair hydration. Ideal for normal to dry hair it’s sulphate free and with active plant DNA bio lipids and powerful Australian extracts; it lathers up well, washes out easily, and it leaves your hair soft and with a brilliant shine. Its partner is the conditioner, which balances hydration levels, detangles and smooth hair fibres, enhances lustre, and it reduce the appearance of split ends. Also in the testing lineup was the Number 352 Oil Infused Bath Soak, and Number 353 Ultra Hydrating Body Butter. The bath soak balances and moisturises skin, while also cleansing, purifying and restoring skin hydration to leave you with a healthy glowing skin. Finish off with the luxurious body butter, which boosts hyaluronic acid levels, and combats extreme skin dryness thanks to oils from avocado and sweet almond, and shea butter.

The Verdict:

These products are lovely to use while also being good for your skin and the environment. They also come in a variety of packs and sizes, the larger sizes ideal for home use, while smaller sized packs are great when you travel. The products do what they promise and are uncomplicated - and what’s not to love about that?
