A growing number of women in particular are looking to reduce the number of chemicals they use on their skin, and if you’re one of them you’ll likely be inspired by the story behind Bohemian Skin. Australian Morgan Littler was on the hunt for holy-grail beauty products after battling common skin troubles, believing that she was compromising her general health by using chemically-infused skincare products. After falling pregnant in 2015, however, she began searching for a skincare regime which was not only safe but also effective during pregnancy, breastfeeding and beyond. I was sent three products from the Bohemian Skin range to road test a basic, no fuss skincare regime.
Gel Cleanser is a 100 per cent natural product designed to gently cleanse the skin while promoting clarity and youthfulness. The formula contains effective ingredients including hempseed oil to balance sebum, coconut water to hydrate, witch hazel to tighten pores, and lactic acid to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Being a gel cleanser, you need to apply a small amount to damp skin and work into a lather, massaging well into the skin before washing off. Although I don’t generally use lathering cleansers, I found this one to be super gentle and non-drying, with a lovely smell. It’s also great for removing sunscreen and even makeup, making it great for travellers who want to cut down on products in their cosmetic bag. Next up is the all-natural Purifying Toner, which removes any blemish causing bacteria while also refining pores and balancing PH levels in the skin. This toner also contains great ingredients including coconut water and witch hazel; to use, simply apply to a cotton ball or pad and sweep across the skin. Any residue of makeup or sunscreen is gone! The final product to test was Facial Moisturiser, which is nourishing, hydrating, and promotes skin clarity. The formula contains Bohemian Skin’s hero ingredients of hempseed oil, coconut water, witch hazel and lactic acid. This simple-yet-effective moisturiser can be used morning and night, and it leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and well hydrated.
