We've been there, slept in the beds, and in some cases dined on the cuisine. Here's part two of our two part feature, highlighting our top picks for romantic getaways NSW in Sydney:

Pier One Sydney Harbour

A enviable harbour foreshore location in Walsh Bay with views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, is just one of this hotel's many attractions. This lovely hotel has been Sydney icon since 1912, enjoying a rebirth as the Sebel Pier One in 1999 in time for the Millennium, and more recently as Pier One Sydney Harbour. Location aside, which includes proximity to The Rocks, this property has it all including a hip bar, and a fine dining on-site restaurant. A key draw card, however, is its collection of seven fabulous new Harbour View Balcony Suites, added in a recent major renovation, and ideal for a romantic getaway. Four have direct access to private, expansive balconies with sweeping harbour views, while all have alluring features including outdoor day beds and arm chairs, a modern decor. A standout feature of these suites is the bathroom, the centrepiece of which is a large, stand alone egg-shaped bath tub; ours had a view overlooking both the water, and the imposing Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The InterContinental Sydney

Club InterContinentalEnviable harbour views, a central CBD location, and the elegant Club InterContinental are just some of the alluring attractions of this Sydney hotel. What it all adds up to is a fabulous hideaway for a romantic getaway, with the benefit of many of Sydney's sights, fine dining, and excellent shopping only minutes away on foot. Since it opened its doors back in 1985, the InterContinental Sydney has remained popular with all manner of visitors from royalty to the world's political elite. Many original features from the site's history remain, such as the magnificent caged elevator in The Cortile. Our room for the one-night getaway was a King Club Eastern Harbour View Room, with access to Club InterContinental on level 31, which has views, perks including free Wi-Fi, and food and beverage services including breakfast, all day light refreshments, and twilight evening drinks.

The Four Seasons

The last hotel in this series is the Four Seasons, a property with a superior spot adjacent to Sydney Harbour, and a long time favourite of visitors to one of the great NSW holiday destinations. It offers sweeping views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House, a convenient location with easy access to many of Sydney's alluring attractions, and has everything both leisure and business travellers could want, from spacious rooms to fine dining, a spa and an executive club. Our room was a spacious Grand Premier Full Harbour View Room, ideally positioned in a corner of the building on an upper floor, with from jaw dropping views from two angles, and access to the Executive Club. Ideal for discerning travellers, it has many perks, including evening drinks and canapés from 5pm to 8pm, a full breakfast service, free wireless internet and concierge services. The lounge is extremely spacious and wraps around two sides of the hotel, with each side offering different views.
