Road Test

Most women want an eye cream which feels good to use and feels nice on the skin, but if you’re parting with nearly $100, you also want to be sure it does what it promises. Over the years I’ve used Obagi products in my beauty regime, and reviewed many, and as I’ve mentioned before I haven’t come across one I haven’t liked. Here's a new one to love, which is designed to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, premature ageing and skin damage - ELASTIderm Eye Cream. So how is it different, and does it work? The formula contains a bi-mineral complex and malonic acid, designed to make the skin around the eyes tighter looking and smoother, also blueberry extract, which provides antioxidants to help eliminate free radicals. And it also has Obagi’s Penetrating Therapeutics™, a technology that drives ingredients deep into the skin to help achieve optimal results. The cream is smooth and rich, making it more suited to normal to dry skins, or for use in a cooler or drier climate. I put my usual eye cream aside for three weeks as the SE Queensland temperatures and humidity began to fall, and applied the Obagi cream twice daily before writing this review. The cream is lovely to use, feeling super silky, and melting into the skin to leave your  eye area looking, and feeling, hydrated, nourished and undoubtedly plumped up. After three weeks, the skin around my eyes feels great to the touch, and it looks more youthful, with fine lines minimised. I can’t recommend this cream gel highly enough, even though it comes with a bit of a price tag. As I have said before, however, with some skin care products you truly get what you pay for. ELASTIderm Eye Cream is worth the investment, and for my part I’ll be adding it to my beauty regime in the cooler and less humid months, and when I travel to a cooler, drier climate.
