Road Test

There’s a lot of reasons to love Hawaii, from its infectious “aloha” spirit and natural wonders, to its fascinating culture which has a deep connection to the land and the ocean. While a visit to the islands should be on everyone’s bucket list to visit, there are ways to bring a little Hawaii into your home, while also giving your hair a treat. Maui Moisture is a hair care brand which draws on some of the many treasures of Hawaii to create an impressive ranges of hair products. It uses handpicked ingredients blended with aloe vera juice and infused with pure coconut water, to create healthy hair and do some essential jobs including moisturising, mending split ends, and giving hair an overall healthy glow. Recently it has added two new ranges to its lineup; Maui Moisture Curl Quench + Coconut Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, and Maui Moisture Thicken & Restore + Bamboo Fibers Shampoo and Conditioner. Both are ideal for travellers for a variety of reasons. The first duo is ideal for anyone with thick or curly hair, and which needs help from climate changes such as humidity. Rich coconut oil both the shampoo and conditioner are formulated with papaya butter and plumeria extract to help detangle, de-frizz and define curls, while also enhancing softness and body for shiny, bouncy curls, coils or waves. If your hair need of fortifying from being over-styled, too much sun exposure, or damage from swimming pool chlorine,  however, the second duo is has a formula containing exotic bamboo fibres, castor oil and neem oil to help strengthen and repair, and encourage a healthy-looking glow. Both ranges are easy to use; simply apply either shampoo generously to wet hair, and massage into a lather before rinsing thoroughly, then follow on with the conditioner. On testing both, I found that my hair was incredibly soft and easy to comb through afterwards, and the conditioners didn’t leave my hair heavy or greasy like some products do. My hair was also super shiny and smelled amazing, with a real hint of the tropics. A third product worth considering for travellers is Nourish & Moisture = Coconut Milk. This lightweight mist is infused with nourishing coconut milk, guava oil and mango butter, which can be used daily on dry hair to rehydrate on the go. It’s also suitable for daily and top-ups without fear of build-up, and give your hair a healthy glow and to boost shine!
