Road Test

Like most women I love beautiful fragrances, but when it comes to using essential oils, I have to admit I’m a bit of a junkie. I use them on my skin, to treat skin problems, and I burn them in a diffuser in my office. I also sprinkle lavender oil on my pillow at night to promote better sleep. Fragrances do a number of jobs, from setting a mood to evoking memories, but aromatherapy and use of essential oils can do even more, including promoting a number health benefits such as reducing anxiety and easing pain. And as I mentioned, helping you sleep. Melissa Allen Mood Essentials is a range of sprays made in Australia and infused with natural essential oils, which not only make you smell gorgeous, but are also designed to promote a positive state of mind. There are four in the collection - I Have Focus, I Have Confidence, I Have Calm and I Have Joy - and I got to try all four in handy travel sizes. I reached for the I Have Calm first, as it contained lavender; one of my primary go-to essential oils, it’s blended with bergamot, sandalwood and patchouli to help soothe the mind and body. One spray of the fine mist and you are greeted with unmistakeable scent of lavender - ideal for helping you sleep, or to feel calm. It can be used on the body, or you can spray it on your pillow before bed. My next favourite for travelling was I Have Joy, which is a lovely blend of grapefruit, orange, howood and bergamot, and which is ideal for keeping you balanced on long journeys including long haul flights. The other two oil blends in the lineup include I Have Focus, which combines rosewood, rosemary, frankincense and lemon, and I Have Confidence, a blend of grapefruit, rosewood, mandarin and bergamot. Both of these would help if you are working on a long trip, or at home in your office.

Beauty In Travel Loves

  • The spray size is super small so you can carry it around easily.
  • The frosted glass spray bottle is lightweight and looks cool.
  • The essential oil blends smell lovely.

Insider Tips

  • The fragrance is quite light and wears off after a while, so if you are travelling, such as on a long flight keep it handy for top ups. The travel size meets in-flight requirements.

    Great Idea

Posted by Nora on 13th Sep 2018

A friend bought me some for my birthday as I travel a lot....she got me the one with lavender in it. I love the fragrance and it's easy to carry and use, but it's quite expensive compared to basic lavender essential oils I think.
