Just a hop skip and a jump away from the famed Eiffel Tower is the boutique luxury hotel, Le Cinq Codet. And a central location is just one reason why we love it.

  • Location: The Left Bank, on quiet side street of 7th arrondissement.
  • Accommodations: There are 67 rooms and suites, ranging from 18 square metre Classic Rooms to the opulent 83 square metre Prestige Suite. Duplex Rooms are nicely styled like a Parisian loft, while many of the Junior Suites have a balcony. The Duplex Suite, Superior Suite, and Prestige Suite all feature a king-size bed and a full bathtub, while romantics will love the additional perks of the Prestige Suite, which include a private garden, and a terrace complete with a Jacuzzi.
  • Dining options: There is a top notch restaurant, Le Cinq Codet, headed up by Chef Antoine K’Ors and offering a menu of seasonal dishes. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to avoid tourist joints, and eat simple, clean food.
  • What else is there: The hotel bar is very lively with a combination of locals and also guests who stop by for dinner and drinks. The cocktails are well made and worth investing in pre or post dinner. There is also a romantic outdoor patio, and a Sundari Spa with features including an outdoor jacuzzi and a massage room for couples.
  • What’s nearby: On your doorstep are popular tourist attractions nearby including Les Invalides, the Rodin Museum and the Eiffel Tower, with the rest of Paris accessible on foot or by Metro.
  • Why go: Le Cinq Codet offers designer-chic accommodation, and is a favourite hideaway for anyone who loves to travel in style, or is looking for a romantic getaway without the crowds. This is a secret Parisian spot begging to be discovered.

The Space

Housed within the former France Telecom building, which dates back to the 1930’s, Le Cinq Codet is a newly restored hotel by the acclaimed designer Jean-Philippe Nuel. It is also one of Paris’ best kept secrets – well, perhaps not anymore. Located in the 7th arrondissement, a sophisticated neighbourhood, it is a great place to stay for anyone who know Paris well, and wants to enjoy it like a local. Showcasing unique, graphic architecture - it is a place for lovers, as well as lovers of architecture and design - Le Cinq Codet accommodations, reception and dining area are splashed with fine art. Also look out for bespoke furniture by Elizabeth Garouste, Tom Dixon, and Patricia Urquiola, if you know your designers. Le Cinq Codet is all about being discrete and calm. Your fellow guests are exactly what Paris demands; stylish, charming and sophistication without the arrogance.

Where We Stayed

We stayed in a classic room, which comes with a queen size bed or twin beds and is styled with a soft palette of colours from rich cream to smokey grey. It’s compact and simple, yet efficiently stocked with everything you need. The shower was powerful, and the bathroom spacious with his and hers sinks. The use of space was practical, with a view of the courtyard; being able to open the window was a breath of fresh air, and an unusual feature in modern hotels.

UltimateTravelMagazine.com Loves

  • Its designer chic style, and quaint but luxurious vibe.
  • The friendly service.
  • The central location.

Insider Tips

  • The Classic Room is a bit of tight squeeze, so splash out on a higher grade room if you can afford it.
  • If you want a suite with a view, the Duplex Suite overlooks Les Invalides, while the Superior and Prestige Suites take in Les Invalides and the magnificent Eiffel Tower.
  • Be patient at breakfast if you staying on the weekend – it can get crazy!
  • Take time to walk around the hotel and marvel at the free art and designer furniture.
