There was a time when my eyelashes naturally looked long and full, but age takes its toll on you in a variety of ways, including your lashes. If you’re looking for a bit of length and fullness there are plenty of mascaras on the market promising both, but having tried quite a few most don’t quite do the job. When I heard about Benefit BADGal BANG! Volumising Mascara, however, I was confident that the results would be good. Benefit is somewhat famous for epic mascaras, so there was always going to be plenty of hype surrounding BADGal Bang!, and I read quite a few reviews before calling it in to try myself. As a traveller you’re looking for a number of features in a mascara, in particular that it last a long time, it won’t flake or smudge easily, and if you pick a volumising variety, it should perk your lashes up too, which makes it ideal for daytime and nighttime use. When I first tried BADGal Bang!, although just for a night out, I was impressed. The bristles on the brush are tiny, and the brush is small, but I found that made it less clumpy on application; the mascara glided on smoothly and noticeably lengthened and thickened my lashes with one swipe. The brush is also pretty flexible which helps to give your lashes a lift. The second time I used it I applied the mascara in the morning, and didn’t take it off until bedtime. In between I’d practised yoga, been grocery shopping, worked and gone out for dinner - and the mascara was as good as it had been when I first applied it. The formula contains ProVitamin B5, which is said to fuel thickness & strength, but I think a key element in this mascara’s success is the brush. It is slimline, and designed to reach root-to-tip, and corner-to-corner for both upper and lower lashes. And the result is a joyous fullness, length and lift that would make a supermodel proud.
