Primers are a wonderful addition to your skincare regime for a variety of reasons. For one, a primer creates an extra layer between your skin and makeup, to help smooth the skin's surface, and even out the skin tone. However a primer can also give your makeup a boost, helping it to last longer which can be especially great if you’re travelling. This new primer in Benefit’s POREfessional primer family does all this and more. It also delivers up to 12 hours of hydration, and it can help to minimise the look of pore and fine lines whether you wear it under makeup or on its own. The primer comes in a single, natural finish and is easy to use. All you do is apply a small amount of the primer to the skin to wear alone or before makeup, blending in with your fingertips. I tried it twice; once on a SE Queensland humid evening with makeup before going out, and another time on its own during the day. Both times the primer performed extremely well. I sometimes get dry skin around my nose which can be noticeable under makeup, but using the primer definitely helped my makeup stay put and it also reduced creasing around my laugh lines. On its own, it gave my skin a dewy, natural finish. This primer is well worth the money as it does its job and smells nice too; for travellers, it is an essential buy.
