Road Test

Amy Jean is somewhat of a legend when it comes to fabulous eyebrows, not only in Australia but around the world, and what she doesn’t know about them isn’t worth knowing. She has a well deserved cult following for her lash and brow artistry, and a lineup of celebrity clients from Delta Goodrem to Dannii Minogue, and influencers such as Chloe Morello and supermodel Naomi Campbell. My personal history with eyebrows is rather a torrid one, having butchered by brow some years ago when I decided on a whim to reshape them myself. Although I have since had my brows tattooed (Amy Jean feather touch eyebrow tattooing to be precise), I still use brow products to have them looking as perfect and normal as possible. Consequently I am always on the lookout for products which create a natural look, are easy to use, and most importantly can be used quickly and easily when you are travelling. When I heard that Amy Jean had launched her own Privée Collection, two essential brow products which  anyone can use, I have to admit my heart leapt a little bit. And when I received my samples, which came beautifully wrapped in a chocolate brown box, I swooned. The first of the two I rushed to the bathroom to road test was the Micro Stroke Pencil. It’s encased in gold-mirrored packaging, and is designed to create precise strokes akin to life-like hairs. The pencil tip was soft, and making the strokes on my brows was super easy; it comes conveniently with a brush at one end to use before and after you draw to raise the hairs and blend. Better still was the result, which was natural beyond my dreams, with gaps beautifully filled. The second product, Brow Veil, is ideal for anyone who wants full and fluffy brows in a flash. It’s a luxe powder which comes in a gorgeous matte black and gold packaging, and which you sweep across the brow. It also comes with a brush at one end, which you use before application to brush hairs up, and afterwards to blend. A number of things set both of Amy Jean’s brow products apart from the competition. Besides the formula and the end result, the colour range is the key. From ultra fair through to a deep brunette and ash tones, pretty much every conceivable brow colour and tone in existence has been covered, which makes finding the perfect match easy.

Beauty In Travel Loves

  • They are professional grade, top quality products.
  • They are super easy to use, even if you’re not very artistic.
  • The Micro Stroke pencil is great to fill in gaps, while the Brow Veil offers a more groomed, sleek finish.

Insider Tips

  • Amy Jean recommends that you go one shade darker than your natural brow when using the Micro Stroke Pencil, and only wind up the pencil 2-3mm before use.
  • She also recommends that you go one shade lighter than your brows when using the Brow Veil, and to apply sparingly.
