Road Test

Since the early twentieth century, the world has been enchanted with the glamour and style of Tiffany & Co. In the 1961 Hollywood classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Audrey Hepburn personified what Tiffany was all about, and over the decades, Tiffany jewellery has been coveted by many women as the ultimate fashion accessory. Today, Tiffany's unusual and trending designs appear in magazines, films, television programs, and on the red carpet, and in recent years it has also come to include memorable fragrances in its product lineup. My first brush with Tiffany was in New York in late 1982, a stopover en-route from Mexico City to London. Although it was early December, New York was in the throes of unusually balmy weather; which was great for exploring on foot. As the city was entirely new to me, I had written down a top 10 hit list of things to see and do, with a visit to Tiffany’s flagship Fifth Avenue store being one. I didn’t have time to go inside or buy anything, but I had my photo taken in front of one of the most beautiful window displays, which was Christmas themed, and I recall, quite magical. And at last I could say, I had been to Tiffany's. Fast forward a few decades and I’ve be fortunate to have indulged in a few Tiffany fragrances, but the latest Holiday Edition Eau de Parfum is quite breathtaking for a number of reasons. For one, the 50ml bottle is actually a glittering, oh-so elegant, limited edition mirrored flacon with Tiffany Blue detail around the neck. So beautiful is this flacon that you won’t want to discard it once the perfume has long since gone, as it will continue to bring style to any dresser. But what’s inside is a vibrant and modern scent. Created by the perfumer Daniela Andrier, Tiffany Eau de Parfum opens with top notes of vert de mandarine, it follows with the signature ingredient of precious iris flower at its heart, and it winds down to a somewhat sensual finish, marked by patchouli and gentle musky notes. A key element of the fragrance is the inclusion of iris flower, which not only embraces strength and femininity, but is a flower long associated with Tiffany as a recurring motive in jewellery designs. Wear this and you will not only possess a fragrance many women will covet, but feel a million dollars no matter what you do. Glamour and style, what Tiffany & Co. is all about.

Insider Tips

  • The best time to wear perfume is right after you’ve showered, as your pores will be open and they can soak the fragrance to the max.
  • Spray the perfume on the pulse areas, where the blood flows more, like wrists, neck, chest,, inner thighs and knees. Apply from bottom upwards, so that you smell good all over.
