It enjoys a prime location in the heart of Sydney, and the Swissôtel Sydney is a luxury boutique hotel within easy striking distance of all of the attractions which have made the Harbour City one of the world’s great holiday destinations.

  • Accommodations: The hotel has 369 guest rooms which enjoy great views of the city skyline; your room’s location will dictate whether you can see Sydney Tower and St Mary’s Cathedral to the east, or Darling Harbour to the west. Options range from a spacious Premier Room through to a Corner Balcony Room, Signature Skyline Rooms, some with balconies, and two categories of suites. Rooms come with either king or twin beds, and have a clean, bright décor with splashes of bold colour.
  • Dining options: If breakfast is included in your room it’s worth getting up for. It’s offered at the chic urban eatery, JPB, featuring Alpine-inspired cereals, baked goods and natural fruit juices. The restaurant reopens in the evening for dinner. The Crossroads Bar fuses a traditional décor with lineup of attractions including Happy Hour each evening, and an elegant Afternoon Tea with is worth saving time for.
  • What else is there: The hotel’s 9th floor Swiss Executive Club lounge has some great city views, complete with its own fireplace and library. It’s an exclusive and semi-private area offering Executive guests a complimentary gourmet buffet breakfast, wireless internet, a selection of newspapers, tea, coffee and cold beverages during the day, pre-dinner drinks and evening canapés. There’s also a rooftop pool and outdoor jacuzzi, part of the Spa & Sport facility, along with a newly refurbished spa, and a fully equipped gym.
  • What’s nearby: The hotel’s CBD location means that Sydney’s primary sightseeing, theatres, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. It’s also close to public transport including Town Hall train station, and Circular Quay with its ferry services are a 20 minute walk away.

The Space

Swissôtel Sydneyis a luxury hotel which is perfectly suited for a romantic getaway. Besides a great location - you can literally see the Westfield Sydney, Pitt Street Mall and the Queen Victoria Building from hotel - it’s also an easy walk to the Sydney Opera House, The Rocks and Darling Harbour. The hotel completed a major renovation several years ago, and the contemporary modern design elements throughout the property has resulted in the property having the appearance of a boutique hotel with all the trappings of its renowned personalised and efficient Swiss-style service.

Where We Stayed

There’s a modern and minimalist feel to the accommodations at this hotel, and its uncluttered design and warm colours has resulted in all them being ideal for either business or for leisure. Our Swiss Executive Room was located on one of the the top floors of the hotel, offering great views, and it came with access to the Executive Club. The room had a spacious layout, with highlights including a super comfortable Sealy king bed, a large desk and a good sized bathroom with separate bath tub and shower and Purvey bathroom amenities. Other perks included an interactive entertainment centre with 40” LED TV, complimentary internet, a bathrobe, slippers and water, and a personal Nespresso coffee machine. Swissôtel Sydney aims to provide a “home away from home” atmosphere, and it does.

Insider Tips   

  • If your budget can stretch to it, book a Signature Skyline Balcony Room - a hotel room with an outside are to enjoy city views and fresh air in Sydney is unusual. You’ll also get access to the Executive Club and complimentary internet.

    We stayed there a couple of times visiting family in Sydney and it was very expensive I feel. No real views from the rooms, and they weren't super accommodating for kids. But to behonest Sydney is overrated generally all the decent accommodation there is incredibly expensive. I'll airbnb next time I think.
