Road Test
The first Marc Jacobs fragrance I ever tried was Daisy Dream Eau De Toilette, five years ago in 2014. Created by the Master Perfumer, Alberto Morillas, it was the latest Daisy added to a fragrant garden which originally bloomed for the first time in 2007; a light, airy and free-spirited fragrance with a fruity-yet-floral personality. I loved it for a variety of reasons, not only because of its sophisticated and somewhat ethereal scent, but also the whimsical ice blue bottle decorated with white daisy motifs. Fast forward to 2019, however, and there’s a new Daisy on the block for fans to covet. Daisy Love has once again been shaped by Morellos, and is an addictive eau de toilette with fruity top notes of sweet cloudberries, a rich floral heart of daisy tree petals, and a seductive yet feminine base of cashmere musks and driftwood. Although it is clearly intended for a new and younger generation of Daisy-loving millennials, I found its carefree personality suitable for anyone young at heart, and who favours a perfect blend of floral-meets-fruit in a fragrance. When I wore it to road test, several people commented on the scent, asking me what it was. Ultimately Daisy Love is another work of art by the famous Spanish perfumer, a feminine fragrance which not only lingers on the skin but creates a lasting and memorable gourmand twist.
