We’ve all been there. Your on the move and want to listen to some music on your smart phone or another device, and when you take out your wired earphones they are all tangled up. Sound familiar? It’s no wonder that wireless headphones are becoming an increasingly popular choice, and if you tend to travel light you’ll want something compact which is easy to operate and delivers great sound quality. New from Focal Spark is a pair of in-ear wireless headphones which come with Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, a choice of colour combos, and a neat carry case including a micro USB to USB charging cable, a magnetic battery clip and three pairs of silicone tips to suit different ear sizes. Design wise these headphones look great but are also practical. Besides being lightweight and comfortable to wear, they have features including an aluminium body, an anti-tangle flat cable of 57cms long joining the two ear buds, a three-button remote control with a microphone, and a small battery pack which gives you sound for up to eight hours. Pairing the headphones to my iPhone 8-Plus was easy; a five second push of the play button on the control block put the headphones in pairing mode, which my iPhone SE picked up straight away. Ditto my MacBook Pro. Although the headphones are designed to be worn with the cable behind the neck, I found them equally as comfortable, and in fact easier to operate, with the cable on my chest. As for the sound, I listened to a variety of different music genres, and found it to be clear and clean without being too flat or having too much base, although the depth varied between old songs and newer recordings.
