Road Test

If you read this blog regularly you’ll know that I have always had a love-hate relationship with concealers, and I’m a big fan of makeup doyenne, Bobbi Brown. Put both in the same sentence it does tend to get me a little bit excited! I was fortunate to interview Bobbi some years ago about one of her many beauty bibles, and loved her no-fuss attitude to beauty and health. As she famously said when she launched her brand, now almost 30 years ago: “It all started with a very simple idea, natural looking make up and lipstick that looked like lips". Therefore it was natural that Bobbi would have a great concealer in her makeup lineup, but this latest addition, Intensive Skin Serum Concealer, is way more than just a cover up product. Although you can use a concealer on almost any complexion blemish, the key reason I use one is to disguise under eye dark circles. I’ve had them since my teens, and over the years have found that late nights, working long hours, travel, and not following my usual healthy diet makes them more noticeable. As a result, over the years, I’ve tried virtually every new concealer that hits the market, from supermarket brands to luxury ones, and more often than not I’m disappointed with the results. While this new Bobbi Brown concealer falls into the luxury end of the market price wise, it does deliver what it promises. The formula is ultra-light, creamy and super hydrating, allowing for silky, buildable-yet-weightless coverage which effortlessly conceals dark circles for up to 12 hours; all without creasing, settling or flaking. Reasons for this include that it is formulated with a skin-boosting blend of cordyceps mushroom, Indian tree root and bamboo grass, which help to counteract some of the major causes of dark circles including ageing and excess pigmentation. Use Intensive Skin Serum Concealer and your under eye kin will look less tired, as well as looking plumper, smoother, and ultimately more refreshed. And it’s an effect which is not only instant, but cumulative, making it ideal for everyday wear, and great for travellers or anyone on the road.

Beauty In Travel Loves

  • The concealer is rich but blends easily.
  • It comes in 17 shades so there is one to suit all skin tones.
  • It’s long wearing without becoming dry or flaky.

Insider Tips

  • To get the best out of any concealer, prep your skin as best as possible before you apply makeup using a suitable eye cream or gel, or a primer.

    Love Bobbi 4 Star Review

I love Bobbi ever since I saw her interviewed years ago. A woman who makes makeup for real women....only marked it down as $65 seems a lot for a concealer, but I bet the same product in the USA is half the price!
