The Space
Set in a leafy beachfront plot on the Indonesian island of Bali, this well established, luxury hotel underwent a major refurbishment in 2012 and reopened with a new 30 metre infinity lap pool and beachfront sun deck, new landscaped gardens and improved lighting throughout most of its suites. The Legian Bali is a great romantic getaway and is the antithesis of the chaos and confusion of nearby Kuta. It is tranquil and elegant with the style of a boutique hotel and it attracts a lot of repeat business because of its great facilities, high service levels and the fact that it’s in the perfect position to enjoy the sunset as it drops over the Indian ocean. The Club At The Legian is right across the street, a private compound with a small collection of secluded villas with private pools and gardens and 24 hour butler service, and are the ultimate in romantic getaways.
Where We Stayed
Our home for two nights was a beachfront one-bedroom Deluxe Suite, which enjoyed an attractive blend of traditional Balinese features and modern contemporary styling. Room highlights include oversized marble bathrooms and canopied king and queen beds. The room came with complimentary Wi-Fi internet, a big LCD TV with Blu-Ray DVD player, iPod docking station with Bose sound system, an espresso machine and electric kettle and toaster. There are 35 one-bedroom Deluxe Suites which are a generous 110 square metres in size and popular with couples looking for a romantic getaway. They have a separate living area with a dining room and a deep marble bath and separate rain shower, French doors that open onto a large patio with an outdoor dining table and day bed. All guests receive a daily newspaper and fresh fruit every day, a complimentary American or Balinese breakfast in suite or at The Restaurant, complimentary coffee tea and soft drinks in suite, and daily afternoon tea from 4pm to 6pm (including fantastic Balinese coffee and snacks) either in suite or in one of the bars.
