2018 Ongoing Monthly Competition Winners

Signup Competition

September 2018 Winner: M. Calhoun of Sydney, with the tip: When you go out, take only what you need. Limit the amount of cash and bank cards you carry, so if something does happen, you won't lose everything. Take only one credit card or ATM card, and no more than $50 in cash.

October 2018 Winner: Rory McDermott of Brisbane, with the tip: Learn a few common words and phrases of the language of the country you're visiting. Beyond the basics, which should help you to get around and order food and drink, being able to say "please" and "thank you" goes a long way.

November 2018 Winner: Talia Freeman of Cairns, with the tip: Make photocopies of important documents especially your passport, travel arrangements, insurance documents and your credit cards, and carry an extra passport photo too. My sister lost her passport at the airport recently, but was told that if she had brought a copy of it and an extra passport photo they would have let her travel. She ended up missing her flight and having to pay for a second one. Ouch!

December 2018 Winner: B. Andone of Sydney, with the tip: Always put important electronics, medications, a toothbrush, key documents, money and extra undies in your carry on bag. You never know when you may encounter a delay, or suffer a lost bag, and although can buy most of these things, having the essentials in your carry on will save you money and time. Happy travelling!
