Raw Kaya Organics

I never used to be a fan of organic or natural skin care products for a variety of reasons, a big one being that they don’t always do what they claim, and they’re not always as natural as they should be. Over the years, however, I’ve come to realise that are using way too many chemicals on our bodies, ingesting them in our food, and being subjected to them in the environment. While I still feel that the skin ageing needs an additional helping hand in turning back time from high tech cosmeceuticals, I have been giving a growing number of organic or natural products a fair go of late, and a new brand on my personal lineup is the Australian skincare company, Raw Kaya Organics. Advocates of healthy skin and living, its new range of skin food is designed to nourish and hydrate skin kindly, using a potent mix of natural and organic plant-based ingredients, while also gently removing pollutants from the skin’s surface. The end result is healthier and younger looking skin.

The new range from Kaya is three-step Rose + Cinnamon skin food, which features a cleanser, toner and moisturiser, all containing the key, active ingredient, MSM, or as it’s known by its scientific name, methylsulfonylmethane. Power-packed MSM aims to reduce oxidative stress by promoting essential antioxidants and forming part of the body’s natural collagen and keratin production cycle. The range formula also contains Moth Bean, a climbing bean native to India and Pakistan, which helps to regenerate tired and damaged skin cells. All three products have a lovely floral aroma which fuses with the warm spiciness of cinnamon, and it comes in an uber-cool, eco-friendly bamboo packaging which looks great on any bathroom counter.

The Rose + Cinnamon Cream Cleanser (rrp $32) has the added bonus of antibacterial and skin balancing properties like honeysuckle, white oak bark and calendula flower, while the Rose + Cinnamon Face Spritz (rrp $33) is a delightful pore refiner which also contains witch hazel and thyme. And the final member of the trio is the deeply hydrating Rose + Cinnamon Face Moisturiser (rrp $34), a luxurious, creamy moisturiser ideal for normal to dry and mature-age skin, which also contains delicious jojoba oil. All three are luxurious products can be used twice a day to help promote healthy skin, and they are ideal for travellers coming in compact sizes, especially anyone travelling to dry climates, or who will be flying many long haul miles.
