There are so many great products on the market these days to give your skin a treat, that I find it isn’t necessary to go to salons for facials as much as I used to. From home use scrubs to masks covering a gamut of problems, or just to pep up your complexion, there are many choices to suit skin type and budget. One to add to your list, and ideal for travellers, is Hibou Naturel Deep Cleanse Face Mud. For one, it’s made from 100 per cent natural locally sourced Australian Yellow Clay, which means it’s free of parabens, artificial fragrances and preservatives. It is also, however, a lovely product to use and it does what it promises; it deep cleanses your skin, and it’s a natural exfoliant akin to microdermabrasion, leaving it clean, nourished and boosted. Besides the key ingredient, Australian yellow clay, the formula also contains rose infused water, purified water, and organic rosemary extract. That means it also smells great.

Using the product is easy, either for a pre-travel boost, or to deep cleanse your skin while you’re on the road. It does stimulate circulation, however, which can leave you looking a bit red-faced for 15-20 minutes, so leave plenty of time before you need to go anywhere. Just apply a generous layer to the face (and neck if required) and leave on for up to 10 minutes. To remove, just rinse with warm water, gently rubbing your skin using circular motions to boost the exfoliation process. Rich in minerals the mask also helps tone your skin and boost collagen production as well as removing dead skin cells. After using it, pores appear smaller, wrinkles look less obvious, and your skin feels and looks fresh and silky smooth. This divine mask is suitable for all skin types, but it can also help people with skin issues including psoriasis, eczema and acne. All the ingredients are locally sourced ingredients, gluten free and vegan friendly.
