A port day on the Indonesian island of Bali on board the Seabourn Odyssey.

 

It was a super hot day as Darwin loomed in the distance beyond Odyssey's bows, but amazingly the sky was blue and almost cloudless - the "big wet" appeared to be over.

 

We're steaming through the Arafura Sea towards Darwin, pretty much at full speed (19 knots). At noon, Captain Mark informed us that we were passing through a cold front, which in these parts means it drops the outside temperature to a balmy 30 degrees C!

A long table accommodating everyone from the train had been laid, and we were treated to a lovely dinner of several courses and wine, including a delicious steak. A group of local Aboringinal female elders paid us a visit part way through and performed a very special song from the Dreamtime, and later it was our turn to join in and sing along to some traditional Aussie folk songs.
